Cut
How precisely a diamond is fashioned affects how it returns light. Cut quality is different from shape: round and oval describe outlines, while cut quality describes proportions, symmetry and polish.

For diamonds on the D–Z scale, D is colorless and Z shows more noticeable light yellow or brown color. Fancy-color diamonds use a different evaluation system. Compare stones in person and in the metal you prefer.
Clarity describes internal inclusions and surface blemishes. Grades run from Flawless through Included. Visibility depends on the size, location and character of features, as well as the stone itself.
Carat measures weight, not diameter. One carat is 0.2 grams. Two diamonds with the same weight can look different in size because their shapes and proportions differ.
Consider how the diamond looks to your eye, its intended setting, its grading information and how it will be worn. Our jewelers can explain the tradeoffs and show you the details in person. A 3D preview helps you explore design; it does not reproduce an individual diamond’s actual grade or appearance.
